BASES FOR PARTICIPATION
The Guadalajara International Music Festival
Invites violinists, violists and cellists of any nationality and age to participate in its Sixth Edition.
GENERAL INFORMATION
FIMG offers students the opportunity to work with top-level professors in masterclasses, technical workshops and chamber music classes. In addition, you will be able to participate in recitals as a soloist and in a chamber group.
- We accept applications from already formed chamber groups, but the payment of the participation fee is for each member of the group. The masterclasses are individual for each member of the ensemble, they will only participate as a group in chamber music classes and recitals. Participants who apply individually will be assigned a group for chamber music classes.
- All of our activities will take place in the Historic Center of Guadalajara.
DEADLINE AND VIDEO
- The deadline to apply is Monday, October 27th.
- You must submit a video performing a piece of your choice (for example: the exposition of a concerto). The video must not be older than 12 months and with a duration of 5 minutes at least. Piano accompaniment is not mandatory.
- Applications as a chamber group must send a video of the group, not individually.
- Our spots are
limited, so the quality of performance shown in the videos and the curriculum of each student will be taken into account.
BECA CLIKK PROJECT
CliKK Project, is an organization in the United States that focuses on increasing awareness and education about music worldwide for individuals and communities facing economic and social barriers.
In the 2025 edition, CLIKK project sponsored the participation of Mexican violinist José Cabrera, and for the 2026 edition YOU can apply for this scholarship.
You must submit a letter with your application explaining why you need the scholarship and why participating in FIMG is important to you. Be sure to submit a video of your best possible performance on your instrument, as artistic quality will be taken into account.
*The decision of the scholarship winner is the responsibility of the CLIKK Project.
BECA FESTIVAL HUILO-HUILO
The Huilo-Huilo Music Festival, offers musical development to outstanding young musicians with a strong commitment to pursuing a career in music, through an intense program of activities led by conductors from the Brussels Philharmonic. The festival takes place in the Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve, one of the most beautiful natural environments in Chile.
The most outstanding student At FIMG 2026, she will receive a scholarship from the Huilo-Huilo Festival, which will allow her to participate in the 2026 edition of the festival with tuition, lodging and food. paid.
* The selection of the scholarship winner will be the responsibility of the FIMG teachers.
COSTS AND PAYMENT DATES
- The fee for active participants is $10,000 Mexican pesos. It includes masterclasses with all the professors of your instrument, technical workshops, chamber music classes, participation in recitals as soloists and in chamber groups, a certificate of participation signed by the professors of your instrument, a Welcome Kit, and access to all festival concerts.
- Tuition can be paid in three installments, on the following dates:
1st payment of $4,000 pesos: November 20th.
2nd payment $3,000 pesos: December 20th.
3rd payment $3,000 pesos: January 20th.
- The cost for participating as a listener is $2,000 Mexican pesos. It includes access as a listener to all master and chamber music classes, a certificate of participation signed by the professors of their instrument, a welcome kit, and access to all festival concerts.
SCHOLARSHIP FOR EXCELLENCE
Winning participants of the Excellence Scholarship in the 2025 edition must apply, including an updated video to confirm their participation, but they already have a guaranteed place at no cost in the 2026 edition.
IMPORTANT:
Since in the last two editions, one of the three scholarship winners has received a bow sponsored by Luthier Daniela Santoyo, we have decided that the winners of the first three editions of FIMG will be eligible to be chosen again as winners starting with the 2026 edition. This will also give them the opportunity to be eligible for the Huilo Huilo Festival scholarship.
GENERAL INFORMATION
- The most outstanding participants will perform in a chamber group alongside one of the festival's professors. These participants will be selected based on their application video.
- All participants accepted into the festival must attend all musical activities assigned to them during the festival, without exception.
- During the festival, a luthier will be available for minor repairs if necessary, and it will be free of charge for active festival participants.
- There will be a day of recreation/tourism, this activity will be optional.
ACCOMMODATION (optional)
- We have made an agreement with the Olga Querida Hostel, located in the center of Guadalajara, which offers the following conditions for those who are interested.
- A 12-bed female dormitory and an 11-bed male dormitory. Each dormitory has several showers and bathrooms. Continental breakfast is included, Wi-Fi, kitchen access for those who wish to prepare lunch or dinner, and laundry facilities.
The cost per night is $250 pesos per person, for a total of $2,500 Mexican pesos for the entire festival stay.
- Rooms for 2, 4, 5, or 6 people. Some of these rooms have a double bed that must be shared, but they are more private. They include a private bathroom, continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, access to a kitchen for those who wish to prepare their own lunch or dinner, and access to laundry facilities.
The cost per night is $350 pesos per person, for a total of $3,500 Mexican pesos for the entire festival stay.
- Participants interested in using the Hostel must pay for their accommodations in the first two tuition payments.
- One of the advantages of staying at the hostel is that you can practice there and receive visitors without any time restrictions. The hostel has a terrace that can be used for socializing.
-Transportation and meals must be covered by each student.
